The present study administered a four-week daily brief (20mins) mindfulness meditation program for eight female athletes on the Chinese national shooting team (n=8) preparing for the Tokyo Olympic Games, aiming to relieve athlete burnout and help improve their performance. A quasi-design of single-group repeated measurements was performed to compare the trait mindfulness, burnout and shooting performance of the athletes before (T1), after (T2) and one month after (T3) the mindfulness program.
