Interaction dynamics between phage T4 and host E. coli B revealed during single-particle tracking using fluorescence microscopy in HILO mode. Image acquisition of T4 phage trajectories was performed at a frame rate of 50 (files with date: 2018-03-13) or 200 Hz (files with date: 2018-12-04) with a pixel resolution of 80 or 161 nm, respectively. Phage trajectories were extracted from the sequences of images using the algorithm TrackMate in ImageJ (.XML files). Data can be imported in matlab (.mat file). E. coli B bacteria were immobilized at the surface of the flow cell and visualized using phage contrast microscopy. Data of phage trajectories can be overlaid with corresponding images of bacteria to study the initial phage-bacteria interaction dynamics at single-particle level. Data obtained at 2018-03-13 consist out of three individual experiments (flow cell chambers), each containing several movies of different fields of view. Data obtained at 2018-12-04 consist out of one experiment (flow cell chamber) during which several movies were collected at different fields of view. Detailed information can be found in material and methods section of the paper.
