This dataset is intended to support the publication "Near wake of the X-Rotor vertical-axis wind turbine" by Bensason, Sciacchitano, and Ferreira, published in the Journal of Physics: Conference series under DOI 10.1088/1742-6596/2505/1/012040. The data includes the measured wake within the volume of rotation of a lab-scaled X-Rotor vertical-axis wind turbine. The wake was measured at discrete cross-stream positions and phase-locked positions using a stereoscopic PIV setup in TU Delft's Open-Jet Facility (OJF). This study presents the first experimental measurements of the X-Rotor wake and will provide a database for the validation and development of numerical models. Furthermore, it will serve as a baseline when evaluating the impact of blade-tip mounted rotors on the near wake, which is a unique feature of the X-Rotor concept. The README.m file should be used to understand the data structure of the measured wake.
