This dataset contains the information collected on the first day of acquiring A. germinans (black mangrove) seeds. The primary aim of this research is to document the first observed case of A. germinans exhibiting polyembryony, as this phenomenon has not been previously recorded in this species. The type of data is mostly observational: Photographs provide a visual record of the observations detailed in the article, and one-time seed weight measurements are provided to support the hypothesis that a higher weight in mature propagules might be an indicator of polyembryony.
