This data set contains the source data of the publication: Zhang, S., Wang, Y., Onck, P.R. & Toonder, J.M.J. den (2020). Anti-Biofouling and Self-Cleaning Surfaces Featured with Magnetic Artificial Cilia. ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces. DOI: https://dx.doi.org/10.1021/acsami.0c05403.  In this study, it is experimentally demonstrated that surfaces partially covered with magnetic artificial cilia (MAC) have the capacity to efficiently prevent attachment and adhesion of real biofouling agents - microalgae Scenedesmus sp. Actuation of the MAC resulted in over 99% removal of the algae. The data are experimentally obtained with methods described in the publication.
