Dataset

This project aimed at understanding the Hydrogen Embrittlement behaviour of Ferritic High Strength Steels through a combination of mechanical testing, thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS) and several other characterisation techniques like SEM, TEM, SIMS, EBSD, EDS, OM and Hardness testing. These techniques were used to charge several different High Strength Steels with atomic hydrogen, to visualise the hydrogen in the microstructure either directly or indirectly, and finally to assess the influence of the hydrogen on the mechanical properties of the steels. The data files contain the raw test data of all utilised techniques in their respective data types, as well as Python code to process the data. Furthermore it contains the LaTeX files, Python code and Figures used to create three separate published journal papers and a PhD Thesis. Lastly it contains the data used for an internship and MSc thesis project, both of which were also synthesised into a thesis chapter. Common data types are .xlsx, .csv, .oim, .jpg, .tiff, .png, .ai, .ipynb and .py, as well as some file types used by machine specific software packages (ThermoCalc, EC-Lab and OIM Analysis).
