This data set contains the original data for the combined PIV/LIF measurement of a turbulent jet at a Reynolds number of 2000.
This data was originally used to determine the mixing in a turbulent jet, but its main use was for the investigation of the mechanics of the turbulent/non-turbulent interface and the entrainment process. For this purpose measurements were carried out with combined particle image velocimetry (PIV) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). All data is contained in a Matlab data file (*.mat). PIV data are in pixel [px] units; LIF data are normalised relative to a calibration concentration field.
