Dataset

This is a software package containing the code of a novel radial wind and the raindrop size distribution (DSD) parameter estimation using the power spectral densities of simulated weather radar echoes in time. The details can be found in the file named README.pdf in the repository.

The repository contains the following:

  1. The code to simulate realistic weather radar echoes in time as a function of the radial wind (mean wind and turbulence) and gamma raindrop size distribution (DSD) parameters.
  2. The code also contains the inverse problem of retrieving these parameters using a novel estimation technique.
  3. The code can be used to make parameter sweeps with parameters such as the wind spectral width, the number of echoes, and the number of Doppler Power Spectral Density (PSD) measurements.

The data used in the code is generated upon use synthetically using realistic numerical/ statistical models of weather radar echoes in the time domain. The parameters can be changed according to the application's requirements.
