In order to understand the invasibility of
wetland ecosystem, controlled experiment was conducted to investigate the
response of root morphology of the alien invasive plant Amaranthus retroflexus L. to water level gradient in wetland. Water
level from low to high resulted in dry, wet and flooding conditions. There were
five replicates in each treatment. The data, including biomass and root morphological
parameters (root mean diameter, root length, root surface, root volume, special
root length, special root surface), were collected by weighing and analyzing using
WinRHIZO after scanned.
