Dataset

The data set consists of data from a randomised and from a natural experiment, both collected in the Netherlands with the aim to compare the efficacy of two surgical hip-fracture treatments on self-reported well-being of treated patients (e.g. EQ-5D-5L), altogether including data on about 500 patients. Correspondingly, the data set contains measurements on the treatment status, the self-reported and additional health outcome variables, and additional pre-treatment covariates such as Age, Gender, Dementia, BMI etc.. The two treatments were compared with the help of causal inference methods, featuring the adjustment for the mentioned covariates. In conclusion, none of the two treatments were found superior to the other in terms of the outcomes of interest. For more information, refer to
