Dataset

In the manuscript related to this dataset, we present two gripper devices with four individually addressable liquid-crystal network (LCN) actuators thermally driven via printed graphene-based heating elements. The resistive heat from the graphene heating elements causes the LCN actuator to bend due to the anisotropic volume expansions of the splay-aligned LCN substrate. We also present a heat transfer model to estimate actuator dimensions, power production and necessary resistance required to achieve the desired temperatures for actuation. This dataset provides the underlying data needed to reproduce the findings, as well as the heat model calculations. It also includes videos which demonstrate the individual actuator fingers as well as two gripper prototypes in action.
