The dataset contains the input files of 82 simulations using Delft3D Flexible Mesh (DFM) in which estuaries were designed using a parametric design. Every estuary design was based on eight (8) input parameters: two (2) boundary conditions, and six (6) geomorphological characteristics. The simulations are grouped in "base" and "extra". The "base"-group contains three (3) sets of boundary conditions representative for three (3) estuary classes: salt wedge (SW), partially mixed (PM), and

well-mixed (WM). The model simulations focus on the effect of intertidal area, which has been varied in multiple ways, resulting in 26 simulations per estuary class. Thus, the "base"-group contains 78 (3 x 26) model simulations. The "extra"-group contains two (2) sets of boundary conditions representative for two (2) estuary classes: strongly stratified (SS), and time-dependent salt wedge (TDSW). These model simulations only include two (2) simulations per estuary class. Thus, the "extra"-group contains 4 (2 x 2) model simulations. Simulations focussed on the last day of the simulation period, with the simulation period varying per estuary class (based on the spin-up time): SW: 8 days; PM: 15 days; WM: 60 days; SS: 60 days; TDSW: 8 days.
