Interoperability

This metadata-only record describes a qualitative dataset produced as part of the PhD thesis, “The Reform of the Hellenic Cadastre under Financial Duress and External Pressure (2009–2018)” at the University of Twente (ITC Faculty). The research aimed to understand how the Hellenic Cadastre System was reformed under conditions of financial duress and external pressure during the sovereign debt crisis. It followed a case study design and drew on a rich mix of primary and secondary data sources. Primary data include confidential interviews and informal discussions with stakeholders such as legislators, land administration professionals, officials from supranational organizations, consultants, and academics. Secondary sources encompass legal documents, parliamentary records, supranational organizations’ and governmental reports, press releases, and media articles used to contextualize, triangulate, and enrich the qualitative analysis. Due to ethical, legal, and institutional restrictions — and the confidentiality commitments made to participants — the dataset is archived offline and is not accessible under any circumstance. This metadata record exists solely for documentation and long-term verification purposes. While the metadata is provided in English, some source materials (e.g., field notes, interviews, legal and policy documents, media articles) are in Greek.
