X-ray computed tomography of a unidirectional composite tape with microporosity features
doi: 10.4121/b877fe30-d07f-4936-af8d-06fb78c54566
The collection includes X-ray computed tomography measurements in 8-bit .tif format of a development-grade version of the unidirectional carbon fibre tape Toray Cetex® TC1225, manufactured by Toray Advanced Composites.
The data was acquired using a Zeiss Xradia 520 Versa at a voxel size of 0.7788 µm, with a voltage-to-power ratio of 70/5 kV/W, an exposure time of 7 s, and a 2000x2000 pixel detector operating with no binning and 4x magnification. Three scan volumes were stitched together along the tape's longitudinal direction with a 20% overlap. The measurements were conducted at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden (NL). A .txt file summarizing the dataset description is also included.
Since multiple materials were present in the field of view of the original scan, only the region corresponding to the tape of interest has been cropped and reported here.
