Dataset

This dataset supports the publication Data-Driven Models for Yacht Hull Resistance Optimization: Exploring Geometric Parameters Beyond the Boundaries of the Delft Systematic Yacht Hull Series. It contains hydrodynamic resistance data from the Delft Systematic Yacht Hull Series (DSYHS) for a systematically varied yacht hull forms and the corresponding resistance informed via an Experimental Fluid Dynamics. The research aims to develop and evaluate surrogate models capable of predicting total resistance for yacht hulls with geometries that extend beyond the original scope of the Delft Systematic Yacht Hull Series (DSYHS). The dataset includes geometric descriptors, hydrostatics, operating conditions (e.g., Froude number), and corresponding resistance results. It enables investigations into data-driven resistance prediction, design space generalization, and the impact of geometric features on hull performance.
