Our studied site, Taixian in the central CLP (35°38´ N, 109°16´E), preserved a relatively perfect loess-paleosol sequences with distinctive stratigraphic markers. We have collected 746 samples spanning from the Holocene S0 (S represents paleosol layers) to the mid-Pleistocene L4 (L indicates loess layers), with at about 2 cm sampling resolution above 3 m and 4 cm intervals at the 3-27 m in depth. We have measured the magnetic susceptibility (MS) and bulk grain size data of this section in the laboratory.
