Dataset

The local temperature rise around plasmonic gold–silica core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) was probed using the temperature-dependent behavior of the polymer poly[(hexamethylene diisocyanate)-alt-(triethylene glycol; N,N’-di-tert-butylethylenediamine)] (PHTD). Further details, including experimental methods, can be found in the accompanying publication. This dataset contains the data analyzing the nanoparticles and PHTD individually, as well as time-resolved spectroscopy of the nanoparticles embedded in PHTD.

All data are given as comma-separated values (CSV), with the first line describing the quantity and unit of each column.

Mid-infrared transient absorption spectroscopy

Absorbance change spectra near the C=O stretch vibration of PHTD. The error of these spectra is also included.

MIR-TA_NP+PHTD_data.csv: Measured MIR-TA spectra at various time points

MIR-TA_NP+PHTD_fit-spectra.csv: Spectral parameters fit to MIR-TA data

Transmission electron microscopy

Data analyzed from transmission electron micrographs.

TEM_NP_core.csv: Measured nanoparticle core diameters and aspect ratios

TEM_NP_shell.csv: Measured nanoparticle shell thicknesses

Ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy

UV-Vis_NP.csv: UV/Vis absorbance spectrum of aqueous nanoparticle solution

Variable-temperature Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy

Infrared absorbance spectra of PHTD during multiple heating/cooling cycles in order of measurement, with indicated for each spectrum at what temperature it was measured, during what cycle, and whether it was during heating ("up") or cooling ("down") of that cycle.

VT-FTIR_PHTD_raw-data.csv: Spectra of PHTD without processing

VT-FTIR_PHTD_atmospherically-corrected.csv: Spectra of PHTD after atmospheric correction
