This dataset provides all the data that were used to produce the results presented in the following study: "Dominantly Aseismic Nucleation of Laboratory Earthquakes: A Quantitative Investigation". The data are composed of mechanical data and acoustic data and were collected during stick-slip experiments conducted on cylindrical samples of Indian metagabbro. In this study we used acoustic emissions prior to stick-slip instabilities as a proxy to foreshocks prior to earthquakes.
