The Observation tower was set up in a dense Miombo Forest in Mpika, Zambia in Southern Africa. The Bowen ratio (BR) is estimated using the Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system. The daily BR is an average of hourly estimates. The DTS approach for estimating the Bowen ratio in a forest is explained in Schilperoort et al (2018). The Silxa XT DTS machine was used. The Net radiation above forest canopy (11 m above ground) was collected at site using  NR Lite 2 net radiometer, relative humidity, air temperature were collected at 2 m above ground at the site. soil moisture was collectedin the subsurface at 30 cm. The  wind speed was collected above the forest canopy at 16.5 m above the ground.
