Objective: To assess whether SWE that is used for MTC can independently predict lateral cervical lymph node metastasis (LNM). Research design and methods: Consecutive patients with MTC treated by primary surgery between January 2014 and June 2019 were retrospectively studied. The relationships between lymphatic status and the clinicopathological and imaging characteristics were evaluated. Afterwards, associations between lateral cervical LNM and SWE parameters, as well as sex, age, invasive size, extrathyroidal extension (ETE), preoperative calcitonin levels, and US features were assessed by using multivariable logistic regressions.
