Dataset
This dataset contains numerical setup files used to simulate covered and uncovered microphone cavities, when grazed by a turbulent boundary layer. The purpose of the simulations is to study cavities used for microphone wind tunnel wall placement. The cavity wire-mesh covers were simulated with a porous medium, being characterized by their viscous and inertial resistivities.
These simulations provide the basis for the results of the publication: Mourão Bento, Hugo F., et al. "Lattice Boltzmann very large eddy simulations of a turbulent flow over covered and uncovered cavities." Physics of Fluids 34.10 (2022).
The numerical setups can be opened with Powercase software, and can be run with SIMULIA PowerFLOW numerical solver.
This dataset includes:
Numerical setup Files: The files include the numerical setups used to simulate covered and uncovered cavities.
README File: This file provides an overview of the content of the folder, explanation of the data format, and the relevant context for understanding the dataset. This file also contains citation guidelines.
