This study is conducted to improve knowledge of scour holes in heterogeneous subsoil. A highly simplified situation is used for these experiments. An oval shaped hole was present in a concrete bed, from which sand can erode. So the scour hole was bounded by rigid edges made of concrete. Lasers were to measure the scour depth in the centre line of the scour hole. This was done for different experimental configurations to investigate the influence of water depth, flow velocity and the size of the geometry on scour hole development. Also velocity measurements have been executed. The most important data are laser measurements in the centre line and data of the deepest point per measurement over time.
