The dataset pertains to a research project on Single image Fourier Ring Correlation. The goal of the research is to assess image resolution for (super-resolution) light microscopy with Fourier Ring Correlation (FRC) based on a single image acquisition, both for scanning and camera based image modalities. This improves the state-of-the-art, which is based on two noise independent image acquisitions. Single image FRC ("1FRC") is made possible because data governed by Poissonian shot noise statistics can be split in two noise independent data halves by applying a random binomial data splitting procedure. The new method is demonstrated on the image data files in this dataset (see README.txt for further information).
