Data underlying the publication: Studying the impact of lighting on the pedestrian route choice using Virtual Reality
doi: 10.4121/1996cc69-6558-4dc5-97ea-f7abc0faf3f3
This dataset contains data collected during a Virtual Reality experiments at Delft University of Technology, as part of Arco van Beek's PhD project. The objective of this research is to study whether pedestrian route choice is influenced by ambient lighting. Thus, participants of our VR study had to make 20 choices at T-intersections, where we varied the lighting condition on both paths. These 20 decisions of each individual pedestrian are the core of this dataset; the choices are extracted from their trajectory data (which itself is collected automatically by the VR software). The dataset consists of two .csv files; one related to variation in light intensity, and the other related to variation in light color.
