OVERVIEW
"seasonality_biomass.csv": contains the biomass weights collected at the end of the experiment. The harvested biomass is stored at NIOZ.

Columns:
date: date of harvest
container: number of mesocosm
pot: number of pot. Unique individual ID
species: tree species. Either S. alba, A. glutinosa or Sambucus nigra (not used in publication)
fresh above biomass (with bag,dg): weight of aboveground biomass in dg, fresh and with bag
fresh root biomass TOP: : weight of belowground biomass in the top 12 cm of the pot, in dg, fresh and with bag
fresh root biomass BOTTOM: weight of belowground biomass in the bottom 12 cm of the pot, in dg, fresh and with bag
DRY above biomass (with bag,dg): weight of aboveground biomass in dg, dry and with bag
DRY root biomass TOP: weight of belowground biomass in the top 12 cm of the pot, in dg, dry and with bag
DRY root biomass BOTTOM: weight of belowground biomass in the top 12 cm of the pot, in dg, dry and with bag
start oven: date when the samples where placed in the oven
end oven: date when the samples where removed form the oven

"seasonality_monthly.csv": measures taken monthly during the experiment

Columns:
date: date of the measures
container: number of mesocosm
pot: number of pot. Unique individual ID
species: either S. alba or A. glutinosa
shoot length (cm): plant height in cm
diameter growth (cm): plant diameter in cm
Leaves top dead: number of leaves dead (i.e. with no green parts were present), measured between 10 and 20 cm from the highest point
Leaves top dying: number of leaves damaged (i.e. with any sings of damage or colour alteration), measured between 10 and 20 cm from the highest point
Leaves top alive: number of leaves completely healthy (i.e. without any visible damage), measured between 10 and 20 cm from the highest point
leaves bottom dead: number of leaves dead (i.e. with no green parts were present), measured between 10 and 20 cm from the edge of the pot.
leaves bottom dying: number of leaves damaged (i.e. with any sings of damage or colour alteration), measured between 10 and 20 cm from the edge of the pot.
leaves bottom alive: number of leaves completely healthy (i.e. without any visible damage), measured between 10 and 20 cm from the edge of the pot.
notes: eventual notes
soil salinity half: soil salinity in mS measured in the first few cm of topsoil
soil salinity bottom: soil salinity in mS measured at the bottom of the pot
treatment: combination of column "season" and column "PSU"
PSU: treatment salinity in PSU, either 0, 5 or 20 PSU.
season: season where the plants were subjected to the salinity stress. Either "Control" (i.e. freshwater control), "Spring1" (not used in chapter), "Spring", "Summer", "Autumn", "Winter".

"seasonality_watersalinity.csv": water salinity recorder monthly in the mesocosms

Columns:
date: date of the measure
