The files in this folder contain the models that were used to study the
mechanical and electrical behaviour of a shear stress sensor.
This is part of the research done to develop a capacitive shear force
sensor. This research is described in a research paper:

Oprel, J., Wolterink, G. Schilder, J., Krijnen, G. (2023). Novel 3D Printed
Capacitive Shear Stress Sensor. Journal of Additive Manufacturing.
doi: 10.1016/j.addma.2023.103674

This folder includes the models for the electrostatics and the mechanics, as
well as an optimization tool. The theory behind the models is discussed in
more detail in the paper.

The MatLab version that is used is 2021a. The 'Optimization Toolbox' is
required (tested with version 9.1).

For models that use Finite Element Methods, Comsol is used. These models were
used with Comsol version 5.4. The 3D-FEM simulation is saved as an .mph file
and can be opened in Comsol. The other FEM simulations are started from MatLab
using Comsol LiveLink for MatLab with which MatLab is connected to Comsol.

A demo.m file introduces the use of the functions that are included.
