***General introduction***

This dataset contains transcriptions of semi-structured interviews conducted with experienced researchers and educators involved in interdisciplinary teaching and research in engineering and science education. The interviews were part of a study investigating the development of higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in interdisciplinary problem-solving and scientific reasoning (IDPSSR).

The dataset is intended for academic, research, and educational purposes, providing valuable qualitative insights into HOTS and interdisciplinary practices in higher education.

Dataset Contents

Transcripts: A zip folder titled - HOTS_Transcripts - containing anonymized interview transcripts of 22 participants in pdf format.

Methodology
1. Participant Selection:
   - Experienced researchers and educators involved in interdisciplinary teaching and research in engineering and science were selected via convenience sampling.

2. Interview Process:
   - Semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore perspectives on higher order thinking skills for interdisciplinary scientific research practices.

3. Data Analysis:
   - Transcripts were coded using inductive emergent coding to identify patterns and themes. The coded parts are high lighted in Cyan blue colour.

Usage Notes
Ethical Considerations:
- The data has been anonymized to protect participant confidentiality.
- Users must not attempt to re-identify participants or misuse the data.
