Data to evaluate findings was processed in R, and thus the corresponding files are saved as RDS files to be read into R for analysis.

Figures 2-5, and S1 are derived from the file basins_annual.rds. They all use the sub-basin geometry column for spatial coordinates and are filled using data from the following columns:

Figure 2 uses the columns q_frequency, q_severity, p_frequency, and p_severity.

Figure 3 uses the columns v_frequency and v_severity.

Figure 4 uses the columns qFreqSev_low and pFreqSev_low.

Figure 5 uses the columns v_q_freq_low, v_p_freq_low, v_q_frequency_low, and v_p_frequency_low.

Figure S1 uses the column abstractions.

Figure 6 uses the following RDS files: basins_monthly.rds (for the basin geometries), and ind_timing.rds, yel_timing.rds, rhi_timing.rds, and ark_timing.rds (for the timing of environmental flow violations over our study period from each method applied).

Figure S3 uses the following RDS files for groundwater abstraction trends over our study period in four specific river basins: ind_abs.rds, yel_abs.rds, rhi_abs.rds, and ark_abs.rds.

Figure 7 uses the following RDS files for monthly violation trends from each method applied over our study period: ind_trends.rds, yel_trends.rds, rhi_trends.rds, and ark_trends.rds.
