A gridded dataset comprising value-added of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in China under shared socioeconomic pathways from 2020-2100

Introductory information
This dataset provides the projection of gridded value-added of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in China from 2020-2100 within the framework of shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs). Five basic SSPs have been developed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to describe major socioeconomic, demographic, technological, political, institutional and other related trends in the future. They are SSP1 (sustainability), SSP2 (Middle of the road), SSP3 (Regional rivalry), SSP4 (Inequality) and SSP5 (Fossil-fueled development).
The dataset includes value-added at 137996 grids with 5' (~85km2 around the Equator) resolution in mainland China covering 73.50E-135.00E and 18.25N-53.58N. There are 1251 files in total in 15 compressed packages. Each compressed package is a combination of the grid value-added during 2020-2100 (81 files) for an industry sector and a pathway. the value-added is given as a two-dimensional matrix and saved in the form of ASCII.

Methodological information
As one of the most important factors in economic projection, the population by age, gender and education level in China from 2020 to 2100 needs to be projected first under SSPs. Subsequently, provincial output values of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries are projected combined with economic statistics. Finally, provincial-level value-added are gridded to a 5' resolution based on recorded county-level output value and gridded land use during the historical period.
