General description
This dataset presents the analysis of a systematic literature review about methods in assessing the values of architecture in residential neighbourhoods. The literature review is published in the journal article: Methods in assessing the values of architecture in residential neighbourhoods, International Journal of Building Pathology and Adaptation, 2021, Vol. 39 Issue 3 Pages 490-505. This article is also part of a PhD thesis expected in 2023. It analyses scientific articles and categorises the topics they address. The articles were retrieved from Scopus online database on 22.11.2018, using the search formula: values or significance and architecture or buildings and neighbourhoods and residential or domestic or housing. The selected period for the articles is publishing between 19742018.

Detailed information regarding the dataset
The dataset has the format of an Excel file. The first page of the Excel file presents the article details (authors, title, source etc) as exported from Scopus. Also, it includes analysis by the author, indicated by the coloured cells. The columns AB to AG explain the selection criteria for inclusion in Stage 2. The columns AH to AW indicate value types and perspectives addressed, corresponding to pages 3, 5 6 and 7 (charts). The rows numbers 238 to 284 show the sums or total scores of the articles characteristics. These are used for the visualization in the charts on pages 3, 5 6 and 7. The columns R to U describe the authors analysis of discipline, subject and research methods, leading to the classification of research storylines, as explained in the journal paper. The second page of the Excel file visualises the selection flow chart, from publications retrieved, to stage 1, to stage 2. Page 4 presents the article details that were selected for stage 2.

Sharing and Access information
The dataset can be used by scientists and others without restriction under copyright or database law. However, they are kindly asked to communicate with the corresponding author when using it, as the authors are interested in further enhancement or criticism of their work.
