Description Sheet Data:
Columns I to AC give the cumulative percentage (based on weight) for each fraction. So e.g. column L provides the percentage (based on weight) of the sample that is smaller than or equal to 180 mu.

Coordinate system:
X and Y provided in RD New (EPSG: 28992)
Latitude and Longitude provided as WGS84

Data collection:
The bed samples were collected in the Dutch river Waal from a moving boat, using a Van Veen grab.
At four locations across the river channel, samples were taken. The coordinates do not indicate the exact, but approximate location.
The boat would float down the river, parallel to the river axis, during data collection.

The bed samples were sieved (dry sieving). The bed samples were dried in an oven (temperature below 105 degrees).
Non-sediment items were removed from the sample, except small shells, which were considered neglegible.
Sieves were put on a shaking machine for several minutes before weighing.
The second finest sieve (row J in sheet Data) was 90mu for samples 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8. For the other samples it was 106 mu.
For each sample, it was checked whether the sum of the weight of the fractions equalled the total weight of the sample (which was weighed before sieving).
