Data underlying the paper: "The role of austenite grain size in the martensitic transformation in low carbon steels" ----------------------------------------------------------- Dilatometry-Analysis: This file contains dilatometry raw and processed data. Symbols and abbreviatures: - Temperature: T - Change in length: dil - Average: mean - Standard deviation: stdev - Volume fraction of martensite: f_mar - Uncertanty of f_mar: Δf_mar - Undercooling: ΔT - Martensite formation rate: rate The first 5 sheets correspond to the data per austenitisation condition (Cycles, 900 °C - 1200 °C) and prior austenite grain size in brakets (6 µm - 185 µm).Raw data of several dilatometry tests (T, dil) are provided per austenitisation condition, named as dil1 - dil5. The processed data show the interpolated change in length (columns dil1-dil5) for evenly spaced temperature data. The calculation of f_mar is based on the lever rule. The sheet named Rates vs undercooling contains T, f_mar, rate and the rate error for each prior austneite grain size. The rate is calculated as the derivative of f_mar with respect to T. ----------------------------------------------------------- Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), Crystallography: This file contains raw and processed crystallographic data obtained by EBSD for each prior austenite grain size, as the name of the sheet indicates (6 - 67 µm). Symbols and abbreviatures: - Grain size: d - Long ellipse axis: A (long) - Short ellipse axis: B (short) - Martensite lath aspect ratio: Lath AR The lath aspect ratio is calculated assuming a constant lath widht of 0.2 µm as 0.2/A
