We are delighted to welcome Sarah Jones as keynote speaker during our upcoming (online) anniversary celebration and renewed repository launch event* on Tuesday, 29 September!
Sarah's talk, entitled The dos and don’ts of supporting Open Science,will reflect on the driving forces for practicing open science principles and approaches in research and higher education, as well as on opportunities to support this culture change. She will touch on the common pitfalls made in the higher education space and point to examples of good practice in enabling research communities to adopt Open Science. Proposals will be made for how the sector should move forward collectively and the potential for change through initiatives such as the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), followed by the opportunity for participants to pose questions and offer insights from their own experience during a round of Q&A.
Bio
Sarah Jones is European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Engagement Manager at GÉANT where she is exploring potential directions for the NREN community in supporting Open Science. She has worked in the Higher Education sector for the past 15 years and was Associate Director at the DCC where she provided data management support and consultancy services. She is currently an independent expert on the EOSC Executive Board and was co-author of the Turning FAIR into Reality report.
