The clean lidar data is stored in the CLEAN folder. Raw instrument data is stored in the RAW folder, and intermediate data, stored during processing, is stored in the INTERMEDIATE folder.
The clean data is stored as a .mat file, but compatible with other programming software e.g. python. The variables within the mat file are:
'date': datetime in matlab format
'date_posix_sec': time in unix epoch time (seconds after 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC) [s]
'easting_m': Easting coordinate (RDNAP) of the lidar pointcloud [m]
'northing_m': Northing coordinate (RDNAP) of the lidar pointcloud [m]
'elevation_m': Elevation coordinate (RDNAP) of the lidar pointcloud [m NAP]
'crossShore_m': Cross-shore coordinate within the local experiment coordinate system of dune 1 [m]
'longShore_m': Longshore coordinate within the local experiment coordinate system of dune 1 [m]
'orientation_pitch_deg': Lidar pitch angle in degrees [deg]
'orientation_roll_deg': Lidar roll angle in degrees [deg]
'orientation_yaw_deg': Lidar yaw angle in degrees [deg]
'orientation': All of the above combined.
'origin_easting': Easting coordinate (RDNAP) of the lidar origin [m]
'origin_northing': Northing coordinate (RDNAP) of the lidar origin [m]
'origin_elevation': Elevation coordinate (RDNAP) of the lidar origin [m NAP]
'origin': all of the above combined.
'indexScanStart': Indices of the start of each scan (rotation) of the lidar
'indexScanStop': Indices of the end of each scan (rotation) of the lidar
The intermediate data contains the variables:
'date_start': start time of the burst in matlab datetime format
'date_stop': stop time of the burst in matlab datetime format
't_dur': duration of the burst in matlab duration format
'N_rot': number of rotations within burst
'avg_rot_speed': rotation speed of the lidar
'avg_pts_per_scan': average amount of datapoints per rotation
'avg_angular_resolution': average angular resolution per rotation [deg]
'blankDist': blanking distance during the scan [m]
'maxScanDist': maximal distance during the scan [m]
'date': date of each datapoint in matlab datetime format
'time': time of each datapoint in matlab duration format
'indStart': Indices of the start of each scan (rotation) of the lidar
'indStop': Indices of the end of each scan (rotation) of the lidar
'angle': angle of the datapoints [degrees, in LiDAR scanner reference frame (similar to earth compass angle)]
'angle_uc': angle of the datapoints [degrees, in unit circle reference frame]
'range': radius of the datapoints [m]
'xLLC': x-coordinate in lidar reference frame [m, positive to the right when looking at the scanner in DOWN orientation]
'zLLC': z-coordinate in lidar reference frame[m, positive upward when looking at the scanner in DOWN orientation]
