Release to accompany the Port Accessibility Paper by Bakker et al 2024.

The release includes specific modules to simulate vessel waiting times in ports caused by tidal restrictions and congestion. Capacity-limited waterways, berths, anchorage areas, and turning basins can be added to schematise the wet port infrastructure and to model congestion. Hydrodynamics, and tidal accessibility rules can be included to model the effect of tidal windows. Vessel agents are ensured to comply to these new features through a vessel traffic service module.

An example notebook of the model's implementation and validation to Port of Rotterdam, supporting the paper, is added to the release. Specific notebooks with code to process and analyse AIS data, geospatial data, and hydrodynamic data, which is used for the model, are included. Some open-source, raw data is also shared in this release, as well as some derived data. The raw hydrodynamic and AIS data, as well as part of the geospatial data, could unfortunately not be shared. This data has not been replaced with dummy data, but this can be requested from the authors.
