The injection of hydrogen/carbon dioxide was done using a mass flow controller on the bottom right inlet at a rate of 0.1 mL per minute. The pressure at the top of the cell was maintained at 1 atmospheric pressure using the two outlets on top of the cell. Pressure sensors were connected to the inlets, outlets, and both sides of the cell, to measure the pressure against time.
This experiment was conducted under the same conditions for the injection of both carbon dioxide and hydrogen.
For the first experiment, carbon dioxide was consistently injected at a rate of 0.1ml/min for 7 hours and 24 minutes. Due to time constraints hydrogen was injected over 2 days, for 2 hours and 33 minutes on the first day and 6 hours and 53 minutes on the second day for a total injection time of 9 hours and 26 minutes, at the same rate of injection. In between experiments, the cell was flushed for 5 days to displace all of the residual carbon dioxide, and allow most of the remaining gas to dissolve in the water and flushed out with more water.
The carbon dioxide experiment was conducted without interuptions, the hydrogen was done from 14h24 to 16h57 on the first day and 09h33 to 16h26.
The time indicatedon the pictures is around 33 minutes early
