entitled "Efficient tactile encoding of object slippage" submitted in Scientific Reports. In
this paper, we highlight the dominant patterns of deformation during a finger slippage, and we show that they are sufficient to estimate the distance between the frictional force and the frictional strength of the contact, defined by the safety margin.
