This supplementary material further describes the methods, data, and results of a water quality modeling project in the Brantas River basin, Indonesia. The model combines a rainfall-runoff model and a pollution fate and transport model to predict resultant water quality levels (in terms of biochemical oxygen demand) along segments of the river, based on estimation of pollution source contributions from crop agriculture, livestock, and domestic wastewater across the river basin. Data used in the model includes historical rainfall and flow data, pollution source data (estimations of BOD contributions based on numbers of cattle, crops, people, etc. and coverage of wastewater management technologies), and observed water quality data.
