The objective of the research was to understand how Internet of Things applications could support strategic decision-making processes at universities. Therefore, interviews were conducted to map a decision-making process at each university (i.e. the design or adjustment of the campus strategy). The outcomes of the first set of interviews were used to conduct process and information analysis. The process analysis was validated in a second round of interviews. The information analysis is based on the process analysis and connects process activities to information needs (which can be delivered by the Internet of Things).
