The goal of the experiment is to verify the eigenfrequencies of the linear guide predicted by the SPACAR model. The linear guide is set up at different positions in its motion range (Z-direction). At each position, it is excited with a roving hammer and the vibrations are measured with a laser doppler device. This results in a dataset for each position in the motion range (these are the text documents, containing two rows, one for position of the linear guide in its motion range and one for the vibration velocity). Using an FFT transform, this data is converted to the frequency domain. More details can be found in the article. Postprocessing is done using the provided Matlab script (the script automatically plots the figures from the article). To open the modelling data, you need the SPACAR software from university of Twente. The SPACAR simulation is done by Mark Naves and the measurements are carried out and postprocessed by Jelle Rommers. %I 4TU.ResearchData
