This dataset contains the data from a mesocosm experiment studying the impact of Sargassum inundations on red mangrove health, as well as greenhouse gas emissions. The data was collected through an experiment involving sargassum seaweed, iron oxyde powder, and red mangrove saplings, conducted from February to April 2022 at the greenhouse Nergena (Unifarm, Wageningen). Mangroves were exposed to re-hydrated sargassum originating on Bonaire (washed-up) to test the efficiency of Fe addition in preventing S2- accumulation in the sediment porewater and its toxicity to mangroves. GHG fluxes from the mesocosms were also measured.
