cff-version: 1.2.0 abstract: "
Description: In-situ measurements of temperature, pressure, relative humidity, rain and wind by a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station named "Davis-EWI-Roof" on the top of the EWI building of the TU Delft, at a height of 100 meters. The data are mainly intended for educational or scientific research purposes, and not for long-term climate monitoring. The TU Delft weather station network was established in collaboration with the Ruisdael Observatory.

Format: Each NetCDF file covers a full month of observations. The temporal resolution is 1 minute. Data are provided "as is", without any post-processing. The NetCDF files contain all relevant information about all the variables, attributes and units. The global attributes of the NetCDF files contain important information about the type of sensor, logging software, project contributors and history of the dataset. If a monthly file is missing, no data are available for this month.

Relevance: Weather station data provide useful information about local variations in temperature, humidity, wind and precipitation up to a few hundred meters around the observation site. Collecting good weather data in built environments is challenging but crucial for understanding and managing the unique micro-climates created by dense buildings, infrastructure, and human activities.

Note: This dataset will be updated approximately every 3 months. Please reach out to the authors if you wish to access the most recent data.

Known issues:

Due to technical issues, the majority of wind direction measurements for this station are inaccurate or unreliable.

The relative humidity measurements appear to be wrong since February 2024. We hope to be able to fix this issue soon.

From August 2023 to October 2023, a technical problem with the anemometer resulted in erroneous wind measurements (both wind speed and direction). The wind speed issue was fixed in November 2023. However, the problem for the wind direction still persists.

Between July and August 2024, a communication issue with the console caused intermittent measurement interruptions. This problem persisted until November 2024, and was finally resolved in December 2024.

" authors: - family-names: Schleiss given-names: Marc orcid: "https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4667-5500" - family-names: Sourzac given-names: Mahaut - family-names: Mackenzie given-names: Rob - family-names: van der Zwan given-names: Fred - family-names: Castro given-names: Andre orcid: "https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7839-3698" title: "TU Delft weather station network - Davis weather station data on the roof of EWI" keywords: version: 2 identifiers: - type: doi value: 10.4121/acb0d7d5-1fe7-453c-a4f1-602e16cdb62e.v2 license: CC BY 4.0 date-released: 2025-03-25
