The pharmacological regulation of verapamil on autophagy effectively promoted liver regeneration, hepatocyte production, and survival in mice and reduced liver injury in mice after PH. Autophagy is expected to become a key target for NAFLD treatment and open up a new direction for the prevention and treatment of obesity, T2DM, Mets, and other diseases.
