In 2017, a shoreface nourishment was constructed at the Holland coast near Callantsoog at a water depth of 10 m. Because the influence of waves is limited at this depth, the nourishment is not very mobile. Sediment composition (grain size distribution) and macrobenthos was monitored at the nourished site and two reference locations before (2015 and 2015), and four years after (2021) nourishment. The file "sediment_composition_Callantsoog.csv" contains the data on sediment composition: SD50 (median grain size, µm), SD10 (10-percentile, µm), SD90 (90-percentile, µm), silt (percentage < 64 µm), very_fine_sand (percentage between 62 µm and 125 µm), fine_sand (percentage between 125 µm and 250 µm), medium_sand (percentage between 250 µm and 500 µm) and coarse_sand (percentage between 500 µm and 1000 µm). The file "Macrobenthos_Callantsoog.csv" contains density (# m-2) and biomass (g m-2) of the macrobenthic species recorded at the different locations.
