CPN simulation model that can be used to generate event logs with specific process performance characteristics. The generated event log can be used to test and validate process performance analysis techniques.
The simulation model represents the sales and delivery process of an electronic goods store. The process involves three business objects for which events are recorded: customer order, replenishment, and shipment. The performance of the process (e.g., waiting times, throughput times, cancellations) are dependent on the configuration of the model. This configuration can be modified by changing the values and functions in the "scenario.sml" file. The required functions for the simulation model are stored in "functions.sml" and the default values are stored in "values.sml". The logging functionality is stored in the "logging.sml" file and contains among others the configuration for the filename and column separator. Events are recorded in CSV format and event attributes include among others the timestamp, the object type and instance, and the performed action.
