cff-version: 1.2.0 abstract: "This dataset contains measurement data from drag comparison experiments over rough, smooth, and partly rough walls in turbulent flows. A Taylor–Couette apparatus was used for the experiments, of which the inner cylinder was made rough by attaching sandpaper belts to it. By varying the width (indicated by s/d) of the sandpaper belts, and also the corresponding spacing between two belts, an axially varying pattern of a rough-smooth surface was created. The drag reducing effect of air bubbles is studied for the different surface roughness configurations.
See readme.txt file for more information regarding the dataset." authors: - family-names: Bullee given-names: Pim orcid: "https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7602-7726" - family-names: Bakhuis given-names: Dennis - family-names: Ezeta given-names: Rodrigo - family-names: Huisman given-names: Sander - family-names: Sun given-names: Chao - family-names: Lammertink given-names: Rob orcid: "https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0827-2946" - family-names: Lohse given-names: Detlef title: "Dataset corresponding to publication: "Effect of axially varying sandpaper roughness on bubbly drag reduction in Taylor–Couette turbulence "" keywords: version: 1 identifiers: - type: doi value: 10.4121/13626143.v1 license: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 date-released: 2021-01-26
