Truncated hemisphere parts were press formed with two commercially available unidirectional thermoplastic composite materials in a variety of layups. This dataset may serve as a reference for validation of composite forming simulations. A comprehensive validation is enabled since the dataset provides information on wrinkling location and severity, in-plane deformation and variability for a selection of parts with different layup, material and geometry.
