As part of an MSc thesis there is researched how microcracking and hydrogen permeability for thermoplastic composites under tensile loading at deep cryogenic conditions can be limited to a predefined level in order to fulfill the requirements for long-life, vacuum-insulated composite liquid hydrogen tanks for civil aviation. As part of this research, there is made use of this XFEM-SCZM model that simulates the materials' mechanical behaviour by creating matrix cracks and delamination. It does so by using Python scripting for Abaqus.
