Using tomographic particle image velocimetry, we visualise and quantify the near-wall re-entrant liquid jet velocity below the vapour cavity in an axisymmetric venturi. The aim of this work was to decipher the exact role of the re-entrant jet in cavity detachment leading to cloud shedding. The full details of the study can be found in the underlying publication. This dataset will help researchers for the validation of their numerical models aimed at simulating partial cavitation.
