Simulation files, measurement data and code to process the data for the paper "Highly deformable hydrostatic bearings using a single closed fluid cell". The objective of this study was to investigate the possibility to create larger deformable hydrostatic bearings by using a single compliant cell, filled with an incompressible fluid (applied/exploratory research). A numerical model has been built in the software Comsol Multiphysics, which has been used to simulate the behavior of such a system in compression on curved surfaces (included in this dataset: the Comsol simulation files, data output from Comsol and the Matlab code to analyze this data). Additionally, a prototype has been built in which the supply pressure, applied load and volumetric flow have been measured for increasing loads on both a flat and a convex/concave surface with a fixed radius of curvature (included in this dataset: raw measurement data, the Comsol model and output prediction for the experiment, Matlab code to analyze the data & additional pictures of the experimental setup).
